For use in skin care

Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant

Locally applied Vitamin C protects the skin against damage caused by exposure to sunlight. Vitamin C does this by neutralising reactive radicals (free radicals), the highly reactive molecules produced by the interaction of sunlight, cell membranes, and other components of the skin tissue. Antioxidants protect the skin by neutralizing free radicals, which would otherwise destroy the skin and its components. These free radicals are stimulated by ultraviolet light and also occur naturally in the oxygen of the atmosphere.

Vitamin C increases skin collagen production

As we age, we lose the ability to create collagen. It is collagen in our skin that maintains the skin's elasticity. Vitamin C is the only antioxidant that has been shown to increase collagen synthesis. L-ascorbic acid acts as a signal that conveys a critical message to Kollagengener to synthesize collagen, as well as a cofactor for two enzymes that are important for kollagenets synthesis.

We recommend a concentration of about 10%-20% Vitamin C. This means that 10-20 grams of vitamin C powder should be mixed out with 100 ml of cream, lotion or serum.
